A sage piece of agriculture advice we once heard was “plan your farm for the 70 year old you, not the 30 year old you”. Finding mental and physical balance is important in any career, but for self-employed farmers it can mean the difference between a long career in farming and flash in the pan.

Join FARMroots and Hawthorne Valley Farm for a workshop exploring techniques intended to develop physical health and land health. The workshop will be led by Zach Wolf and will touch on three areas that Locust Farm is working on to cultivate balance on the farm: 1) Biological Conservation 2) Economics and Efficiencies 3) Stress Management We will tour NY State Parkland being actively farmed, look at equipment and farming systems, and sit for a discussion on self care techniques.
