Taina’s Vegan Apple Crisp with Lavendar

Vegan Apple Crisp

Serves 6-8


  • 6 medium apples

  • ½ cup maple syrup

  • 2 Tbsp. whole wheat flour

  • lemon juice from one lemon

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

  • pinch of nutmeg

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • ½ cup whole wheat flour

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 6 Tbsp. coconut oil, plus more for the pan

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 tsp. lavender flowers (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Using your fingers, grease a 9×9 baking dish with coconut oil.

  2. Slice the apples ¼-⅛ inch thick. In a mixing bowl, combine the apples with maple syrup, 1 Tbsp. flour, lemon juice, lavender, cinnamon and nutmeg. Toss thoroughly and then transfer this mixture to the baking dish.

  3. In a bowl add oats, ½ cup flour, sugar, coconut oil and vanilla. Mix until it forms a crumble. Spoon this on top of the apple mixture.

  4. Bake for 35 minutes, until the top is a bit browned. Serve warm.
