Volunteer and Visitor Guidelines

  • All volunteers and visitors must be registered and approved. No drop-in visits are permitted. Please be on time so we can orient you.
  • Our address is 1972 NY Highway 2, Petersburg NY 12138. Please do not turn into any neighbors driveway. Directions, map, speed limit, and parking instructions are here. If you do not see 1972 and Soul Fire Farm on the mailbox you are in the wrong place. Text your host for support if you are lost. Main phone 518-880-9372. Please park in the parking lot or designated parking places which have signs. Do not block the road or other cars.
  • Please sign this digital waiver before you arrive. Por favor firme esta exención de responsabilidad antes de llegar.
  • Please check the weather and dress appropriately. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Please hose off the treads of your boots or shoes before you come. This helps prevent the spread of invasive species. Wear layers of clothing that you do not mind getting dirty.
  • Please pack your own lunch, snacks, and water bottle. We have an outdoor sink where you can refill your water bottle and wash your hands. There are no nearby restaurants to pick up food. (Certain events have a meal provided, which is always plant-based and gluten-free. If you have other dietary needs, please pack your own meal as we are unable to customize.)
  • If you are scheduled to work or participate in a program but feel unwell, stay home. Doing so protects other staff, volunteers and program participants from catching what you have, and, hopefully, it gives you necessary space to rest.
  • All SFFI staff and visitors are welcome and encouraged to wear well-fitting masks indoors or in crowded outdoor locations, particularly if they might have flu-like symptoms, have been exposed to COVID or the flu, or are unsure if they are sick. SFFI recommends KN95 or medical masks and provides these masks at no-cost to staff and visitors upon request.
  • Unfortunately, Soul Fire Farm is unable to provide transportation or accommodations. Please plan accordingly.
