Thank you for the outpouring of support

Dear Community,

We are humbled by the outpouring of support we have received from you in the last couple weeks, instilling us with hope for a more just future amidst the grief we feel about the continued legacy of anti-Black police violence in our nation. We are invigorated by the ways we are showing up for each other and our communities – from raising money for bail funds to providing first aid to protestors to witnessing our siblings internationally name their support for Black lives and call for an end to police violence. The pursuit of justice is necessarily a collective movement.

Community support is also what fuels our own work to end racism and injustice in the food system. We want to express our gratitude to all the folks who are sharing our message and work across social media, the individuals and organizations making donations, and those reaching out to us, catalyzed to act and find out ways they can support the BIPOC food sovereignty movement. We wish we had the ability to honor all of your requests with a timely and comprehensive response but like many of our comrade organizations our capacity is limited, and we also don’t have all the answers.

Therefore, in an attempt to honor your desire to find out how to get involved we have compiled a list of action steps you can take right now. Please only reach out to us personally once you have explored everything listed below – we have our hands full.

If you or your organization are offering pro bono services please email us a paragraph describing what services you are offering, how many hours you are available for, and your contact information so that we can share your offer within our network. If you want to fundraise for Soul Fire Farm, thank you! You may use information from our FAQ about our work, our specific COVID-19 response, and our 2019 annual report. But please do not use our name, image, or work to promote your products or any other agenda. If you are inviting us to a speaking event or offer a training, kindly complete our booking request form

On our website we also have links to this list of Covid-19 policy demands with ways you can support the movement for food sovereignty, this Food and Land Sovereignty Resource List for Covid-19, and this list of BIPOC-led How To Videos, Gardening Projects, and Online Learning Resources. Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and support.

In appreciation and solidarity,
The Soul Fire Farm team
